Rich Gwilliam's digital shed
When I first used ModX, it was a nice and simple alternative to Wordpress; a relatively uncomplicated Content Management System assembling components in a straightforward manner similar to how Laravel does it today; still offering a slick back-end suitable to turn over to a client's marketing department.
These days it's a little more complex, so when I'm looking for a straightforward manner similar to Laravel, I, ah... use Laravel.
Still, it's a neat little package with its own niche and worth considering.
I've been using ModX since Nov 2008 (17 years).
