"HTML email... so, HTML?"
No.
HTML is a bizarre, mutated beast. It's a throwback to the early days of HTML when everything was built with tables because it's what was reliable - there were lots of browser rendering engines that interpreted CSS differently, meaning the CSS had to be rebuilt and tested for each browser, or some preferred to just... do it the old school way, with tables.
Browser rendering is standardized now but guess how many ways there are for email clients - app based or web based - to render emails? Yep, it's "lots". Resulting in painstaking, hacky construction of email templates and frequent disappointing conversations with designers.
I can build HTML email campaigns, with the help of Litmus. But if I agree to do it, it's because I like you.
I've been using HTML Email since Nov 2008 (17 years).
